Bishop Paul welcomed Parish Safeguarding Officers (PSOs) from across the diocese to Dayspring last week, recognising the invaluable contribution they make in helping to ensure churches remain safe places to worship, visit and belong.
Held over three gatherings during one of the hottest weeks of the year, the events brought together safeguarding volunteers from across the diocese for a time of encouragement, fellowship and networking.
Reflecting on 1 Corinthians 12, Bishop Paul spoke about the importance of PSOs within the life of the Church, describing them as an integral part of the Body of Christ and highlighting the vital ministry they exercise within their parishes.
The gatherings provided an opportunity to thank Parish Safeguarding Officers for their dedication and commitment, while also offering space to connect with colleagues from other churches. Participants shared experiences, discussed common challenges and explored opportunities to strengthen safeguarding practice across the diocese.
